Abstract
Republika Hrvatska izrazito je primorska zemlja s razvedenom obalom i velikim brojem otoka i otočića, pa je potrebno čim bolje i snažnije valorizirati i iskoristiti smještajnu prednost te razvijati pomorsko gospodarstvo kao važnu granu cjelokupnog razvoja zemlje. Prilikom tog procesa bitna je primjena koncepta održivog razvoja kako bi se sačuvao okoliš jer je Jadransko more najvrjedniji i najosjetljiviji prirodni sustav u prostoru RH. Potrebno je nastaviti razvijati pomorsko gospodarstvo a nadležne vlasti su na razini države donijele strateške dokumente i zakone na temelju kojih se taj razvoj provodi. Održivi razvoj pomorskog gospodarstva tek je započeo svoju primjenu, a u budućnosti očekuje se povećan udio pomorskog prometa, samoodrživost te veća konkurentnost Hrvatske uz odgovarajuću brigu o okolišu.
Abstract (english)
The Republic of Croatia is extremely coastal country with an indented coastline and a large number of islands and islets, so it is necessary to better and more powerful valorize and use accommodation advantage and to develop the maritime economy as an important branch of the country's overall development. In this process, it is essential to apply the concept of sustainable development to preserve the environment because Adriatic Sea is the most valuable and most sensitive natural system in the Republic of Croatia. It is necessary to continue to develop the maritime economy and the authorities at the state level have adopted the strategic documents and laws on the basis of which this development is being carried out. The sustainable development of the maritime economy has just begun its application, and in the future is expected to increase the share of maritime transport, sustainability and greater competitiveness of Croatia with proper care of the environment.
